PRIVATE TRAINING - ONE ON ONE

These sessions are aimed at people who would like to get the knowledge and skills needed to prepare espresso coffees on commercial equipment. It will give the learner all the needed information on variables and factors that can make or break the perfect shot. Ideal for future cafe owners and people toying with the idea of working as a barista.

How many hours do I need to book my barista training for?

   Here are some time guidelines

• If you have never worked on an espresso machine before you need three hours minimum to start. This will cover basic espresso understanding, the machine and it's components, dosing, tamping, extracting and basic maintenance as well as milk texturing to be able to prepare different espresso based beverages. A follow up of two hours once you have a machine or working at a cafe is advisable.
• If you have basic knowledge and have worked a little on an espresso machine two hours would be great for you to fine tune your skills, pass on tricks of the trade and get a better understanding of the science of coffee. What makes and what breaks a good cup of coffee, blends and roasts.

  NZ$75 per hour, min. two hour booking. Repeat booking discounts available. Pricing for two people for two hours NZ$180.

  3 hour Beginner package for one person includes a Barista Guide book NZ$265.00
  This course covers espresso equipment and maintenance, the perfect shot 101 and different espresso coffee recipes. This is a very hands on course. Price for two people NZ $280.00
